Memorial Amphitheater At Arlington National Cemetery, A former Huntington man will lead prayer at a national Memorial Day observance program today at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va. Following a prelude by the United States Army Band and a presidential Armed Forces full honor wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns, Col. Steven Berry, the command chaplain for the Joint Force Headquarters – National Capital Region and the Military District of Washington, will offer the invocation and benediction at an observance program at the cemetery’s amphitheater.

For Berry, a 1970 graduate of Huntington High School, it’s his second year to participate in the ceremony. “It’s quite an honor,” Berry said in a telephone interview from Fort Lesley J. McNair in Washington. “Arlington National Cemetery is a national shrine. There’s no patch of earth in the U.S. that compares exactly with Arlington National Cemetery.
